Aqua-Tots Swim Schools Partners with Water4 to Fully Fund Safe Water Projects in Uganda in 2019

Five swim school locations to help provide safe water and sustainable, long-term solutions to the people of Uganda

Aqua-Tots Swim Schools locations in Midlothian, VA, Richmond, VA, North Richland Hills, TX, Alliance/Keller, TX, and Fort Worth/Bryant Irvin, TX, have announced a partnership with Water4.

RICHMOND, VA MARCH 22, 2019 – Aqua-Tots Swim Schools locations in Midlothian, VARichmond, VANorth Richland Hills, TXAlliance/Keller, TX, and Fort Worth/Bryant Irvin, TX, have announced a partnership with Water4 to raise $59,500 to fully fund all water wells in Uganda, Africa in 2019. With “2.1 billion people worldwide lacking access to safe water at home,” according to the World Health Organization, the need for safe water is a humanitarian crisis impacting sanitation, health and education worldwide.

“At Aqua-Tots Swim Schools, our mission is to propel lives worldwide,” says Aqua-Tots Swim Schools franchise owner Kerin Morgan. “Water has been the conduit by which we have done that for over 28 years, teaching over 5 million swim lessons annually. We’ve come to recognize that millions of families around the world don’t have access to safe water at all. They aren’t able to drink, cook, clean or bathe – let alone swim – with safe water. We feel that all families deserve the basic human necessity of water, so Water4 offered a perfect alignment with our mission to save lives.”

“Water4 is thrilled to partner with Aqua-Tots,” says Water4 Director of Development Michael Mitchell. “Their mission to keep children safe in the water is a near perfect fit with our mission to give people access to safe water. We firmly believe safe water changes everything! I’m so excited to see the impact we can make together through this partnership. Thank you Morgan family and the Aqua-Tots team for being part of the solution to the water crisis.”

World Water Day, March 22, 2019, is the perfect day to recognize that Water4 has provided safe water to 1.3 million people in Africa to date with pumps that cost a mere $20 in materials and that are readily accessible within each country. Water4, however, doesn’t believe that charity is the answer to the water crisis. Empowerment is.

“Water4 goes beyond charity,” says Tim Morgan, Aqua-Tots franchise owner. “They come alongside aspiring entrepreneurs and train them to fund the water projects and start their own for-profit businesses. Families that live in the villages are able to purchase the water for less than twenty cents per day which gives them pride in that they now have access to clean water and fund maintenance needs to keep the well functioning. It’s an amazing program, and our goal is to fund all 35 wells needed in Uganda this year, and at $1,700 per well, I believe we can do it!”

The Aqua-Tots families and communities in which they serve, can join in the Morgan’s efforts to provide safe water in a variety of ways. The average cost to bring clean water to one person is $35. From now until the end of May 2019, Aqua-Tots Swim Schools in Midlothian, Richmond, North Richland Hills, Alliance/Keller and Forth Worth/Bryant Irvin will donate $3.50 from each new student enrollment and $1 per active student each month to Water4. But that is just the beginning! Those interested in donating can give at give.water4.org/aquatots, and 100% of every donation will go directly to fund water wells in Uganda. Additionally, all gifts are currently being matched up to $1 million.

Together, Aqua-Tots Swim Schools and Water4 are saving lives worldwide.
